The body as a self-organizing system

Your body is an incredibly complex, sophisticated, self-organizing system.

Nobody had to tell your body how to grow from a single embryonic cell - it carried that knowledge within itself.

You can also witness your body’s self-organizing properties in its ability to self-heal, like when you burn your tongue, get a paper cut, or catch a cold - in most cases, your body can heal all on its own.

The structure of your body, or its biomechanics, are also self-organizing - but stress, injury, sitting still all the time, and repetitive movements like texting, typing and driving can introduce compression and strain into your body’s system, sometimes resulting in pain.

Eric Isaac, Studio Evolve’s resident sound healer, taps into the body’s capacity to self-organize to facilitate healing for his clients.

In his group Sound Baths and private Somatic Sound Resonance sessions, Eric uses his deeply intuitive relationship with sound to attune to his clients’ nervous systems via singing bowls.

Then, he uses his singing bowls to help create a “sonic pause” in their nervous systems - a parasympathetic state that makes space for the body to release pain patterns and re-organize based on its own embodied wisdom.

Because it activates your body’s capacity to self-heal without pushing or forcing, you may particularly appreciate Eric’s approach to sound healing if you:

  • Find that traditional chiropractic work or deep tissue massage feels good in the moment or temporarily relieves pain, but the same pain patterns always come back within a few days

  • Don’t like to describe every detail of your pain and discomfort verbally

  • Are very selective about your bodyworkers, or worry that an inexperienced therapist might injure you

  • Have a complex relationship with touch, or don’t feel comfortable with the direct touch used in traditional bodywork

If this message resonates, there are TWO ways to work with Eric right now:

  1. Sign up for our next Sound Bath with Eric - the second Friday of each month!

  2. Email Eric at eric@nativeharmonyhealing.com to schedule a private Somatic Sound Resonance session at Studio Evolve.

P.S. Friday’s Sound Bath is limited to eight people - click here to reserve your spot!
