Words from Martine: Why Opened Studio Evolve

Hi, I’m Martine, Owner and Founder of Studio Evolve

Hi, I’m Martine!

Owner and Founder of Studio Evolve.

In case we haven’t met yet, I’d like to introduce (or reintroduce) myself!

Before I opened Studio Evolve, I was working as a bodyworker and movement instructor.

I found over and over again that my clients who had been living with discomfort for years - even decades - could heal or significantly reduce their pain through biomechanically correct movement and gentle bodywork.

In fact, clients told me that they had been prescribed painkillers or anti-inflammatories for their chronic pain and were potentially heading towards surgery when they decided to try Pilates and/or SPRE Bodywork!

They were pleasantly surprised to experience significant improvement and in some cases, avoid the need for any further medical interventions.

And they did NOT have to push themselves to the limits of exhaustion to do so.

But so many gyms and fitness studios are built on the “no pain no gain” philosophy that can alienate beginners or potentially burn out even the most experienced exerciser.

That’s why, in 2006, I opened Studio Evolve.

To build a truly inclusive fitness community that offers multiple complementary modalities and serves people of all ages.

Whether you’re a movement professional or a movement beginner, we can’t wait to meet you! We make it easy to get started.

P.S. If you’re new, we recommend the 2 Private Sessions Intro Package! It’s designed for anyone who is new to Studio Evolve, and will be customized to meet your needs. Click here to get started!

OWNER; SPRE® EDUCATIONAL FOUNDER, PRACTITIONER TRAINER & PRACTITIONER, SHE/HER

Martine enjoys the diverse learning opportunities studio ownership has allowed her. She began her career in the field of movement and bodies as a Pilates Instructor in 1999. Soon after her original Pilates certification, Martine pursued numerous other certifications and sought to bring her client offerings and business acumen to one place in the founding of Studio Evolve, Pilates, Gyrotonic & SPRe® Bodywork.

Along her journey, Martine partnered with Jill Ableson for the development of the SPRe® Practitioner Training Program. Together they have brought the SPRe® Training Curriculum to its current evolution as a licensed Somatic Education Training Program and WA State Vocational Training School.

Working with Martine is both grounding and expansive. She enjoys the practice of energetically, verbally and somatically attuning with and guiding clients. Her use of SPRe® Bodywork, as well as her curiosity and engagement leads to delightful moments of clarity and greater physical comfort for her clients.

Martine feels an essential component to building a strong partnership with her client is a foundation of trust, openness and curiosity. This allows for the safe and supportive exploration of whatever difficult, confusing or conflicting emotional and somatic experiences arise in the journey they take together. Ready to take the first step? Martine is currently seeing SPRe® clients online and in person and looks forward to hearing from you.
