Structurally Informed, Intelligent Movement: Living our values

“I’ve realized the intent…doesn’t have to be to torture my body until it can take more…”

At Studio Evolve, we believe in structurally informed, intelligent movement.

In our movement sessions and classes, we help folks build functional strength and mobility to support healthy, resilient posture so that they can move through the world with more comfort, grace, and ease.

FUNCTIONAL strength is the strength that helps you do the things you actually need to do in your daily life - like carrying your suitcase through the airport, taking out the recycling, and even sitting comfortably.

Time and again, our students tell us that regular practice at Studio Evolve has reduced their pain, prevented injuries, and helped them stay active as they age.

Like Christina. Before she started practicing at Studio Evolve, she had been avoiding activities she loved due to her chronic pain.

“After a month in The Accelerator, my daily pain levels have gone down from a 7 to a 3 or 4,” says Christina.

And structurally informed movement is designed to promote space and ease in your body - which means that it’s highly effective, but it feels very gentle.

“What surprised me the most was how gentle and restorative it all felt,” says Christina.

Maureen, another recent Accelerator graduate, puts it this way: “Going through the Accelerator, I’ve realized that the intent of an exercise practice doesn’t have to be to torture my body until it can take more.”

We couldn’t agree more.

In fact, practicing with our anatomy-trained movement experts can even be FUN!

“It’s so engaging - I’m always excited to go back to the studio and try out the new things I’m learning!” says Maureen.

Maureen and Christine started their practices with The Accelerator, our high-touch 4-week container designed to help you build strength, reduce pain, and experience embodied joy in record time - no self-torture involved.

P.S. Joining The Accelerator is like hiring a self-care support team for a month - you get Pilates, bodywork, breathwork, and more.

It’s an investment in your comfort, your energy, and your ability to resource yourself as you go for your next goals. And THAT is priceless.
